Diane Marcella Sabal died peacefully on July 14, 2024 at Heritage Woods Huntley. She was born in Chicago, IL to Leo and Valerie (Tabisz) Radzicki. She married Jerome (Jerry) Sabal on April 4, 1959. They were married 54 years until Jerry's death in 2013.
Diane and Jerry made homes in Chicago, Glen Ellyn, Buffalo Grove, and Huntley, Illinois over the years.
Diane is remembered for her sense of humor, enthusiasm for chocolate candies, and love of playing games with friends and family. She was an early adopter of pickleball, many years before the current craze! Her faith was essential to her, and she remained a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Huntley through her final days.
Diane is survived by her six children: Nancy (Michael), James (Christine), Geri Lynn, Christopher (Barbara), Jennifer, and Valerie (Michael). She is further survived by 16 grandchildren: Rachel and Jonathan. Megan, Benjamin, Hannah and Brian. Emily and Michael. Joseph, Matthew, Luke and Claire. Cole and Mari. Allison and Andrew. Also, four great-grandchildren. She was a treasured aunt to 24 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by each of her siblings: Dorothy Altman, Patsy Kedzie, and Richard Radzicki.
Diane's family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Woods Huntley for making her last 3 years as pleasant as possible, Nurse Lisa at Gentiva Hospice for her wise counsel, the clergy at St Mary Huntley for visiting often, and all the friends and family who visited, called, prayed, and sent wishes through her difficult times.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd, Huntley at 10 am on Saturday, August 17. Visitation will be at the church from 9 am to 10 am.
