Diane Taormina Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. on Sep. 26, 2025.
Diane Taormina, age 68, of Staten Island passed Tuesday, September 23, 2025, with the comfort of her family by her side. Diane was born to Joseph and Carmella Ulses and graduated from Canarsie High School with the class of 1975. Diane's first job was at McDonalds, where she was asked to wear a net in her hair, prompting her to quit the next day. She then worked in Medical billing in the OBGYN department at Downstate Hospital, where she worked until she gave birth to her second child. Diane was a loving and caring woman. She was completely devoted to her family and was a light in everyone's life. She was an amazing cook, leaving dishes like Pasta Fagioli and her famous chili in everyone's memories. She brought so much joy and happiness into every life that she touched. She always liked to keep traditions, whether it be sushi dates with her sons and niece, shopping trips with her best friends, or filming her husband and son playing the drums while dancing. Diane enjoyed her days boogying at Zumba classes with her best friends. She also loved spending time with her two grandkids; she would take them to the park, to get ice cream, and would often play in the pool with them. Diane's grandson loved when she bought him all kinds of toys, and she always took the time to sit and play with him. Diane's granddaughter loved when she would put lipstick on her so they could both look beautiful together. Diane met the love of her life, Larry, when she was a teenager in Canarsie, Brooklyn. She used to watch Larry play the drums while she was over his house, waiting for his sister to finish getting ready to go out dancing with Diane for the night. Their lives took them in different directions until they began dating in 1998, thanks to Diane's best friend, Maryann, who suggested they go on a date together. They got married on August 15, 1999, in Cape May. Diane had been blessed with her first baby boy, Anthony, in 1990, and Diane and Larry were then blessed in 1999 with their son, Nicholas. They have enjoyed a loving and faithful marriage for twenty-six years. Friends may visit with the family at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funeral at 28 Eltingville Blvd. Staten Island, NY, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 9:45 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Saint Clares Church, Nelson Ave. Entombment will follow at the Forest Green Park Cemetery, 535 Texas Rd, Morganville NJ.
