Mrs. Dianna Gros wrote her own obituary.
Dianna Sue Gaudin Gros, born in Baton Rouge on October 22, 1947, died on November 15, 2025. She was a 1965 graduate of St. Anthony High School in Baton Rouge. She was retired, but she was once the co-owner of Gros Corner, Inc. in Ethel, LA. She and her husband Paul ran the convenience store for twenty years. They worked together to build the business and did many hours. They made many friendships and had many good memories. Dianna also worked for the highway department for six years before she and Paul were married, on November 8, 1969. She also worked three years as a cashier at LeBlanc's grocery in Zachary (now Rouses).
Dianna had no special talents. She was quiet, caring and always available for her grandchildren. She had neuropathy and arthritis and was unable to crochet, but she loved it! She loved putting "zigsaw" puzzles together, cutting her lawn, and sitting on the porch with Max and Buster, watching squirrels and hummingbirds. Always had a book to read. She loved just about any kind of music and brought her radio to the porch. She leaves all her love to all of you! Everyone had to repeat their words for her-no hearing, hardly could walk, fell a lot.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Paul Gros and his wife Lisa of Norwood, LA; a sister Marie Odille (Odie) Gaudin Claxton of Natchez, MS; a nephew and godchild, Eric Bourgeois of Atwell, GA; two nieces Jamie Gaudin Fowler and Bonnie Gaudin, both of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Devin Gros and his wife Anna and first great-grandbaby Chandler, expecting second great in May 2026; Aydan Gros and partner Camryn of Slaughter; Laney Fleming of Slaughter; Dylan Fleming and fiancé Hannah of Slaughter; Madison Crowell of Zachary; Dace Kelly Lambert of Norwood. Also survived by her four-legged granddogs: Max, Buster, Murphy, Cooper, Blue Bell, Shadow, Zoey, Biscuit, Luna, Romeo, Tyson, Gremlin, Bleu, and Scout. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Allen and Ethel Mae Gaudin; husband Whitney Paul Gros; daughter Cammie Lynn Gros; brother John Gaudin; special cousin Wanda Kay Bailey Soileau.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary. There will be a visitation on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 10:00 am until funeral services at 12:00 noon. She will be placed with her husband at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum in Baker. Friends wishing to make memorial donations in her honor may make them to the
Heart Association,
St. Jude’s Research Hospital, and the Kidney Association.
My son Bryan has been a rock for me. After my daughter Cammie died suddenly in 2020, Bryan was so supportive and helpful. Always called to see if I needed anything. Had to rely on him to cut yard, open things I couldn't. Bryan and his wife Lisa got me through all the depression, crying, and guilt that I felt.
Bryan, can't say enough about you, son! Such a special man-good, kind, thoughtful, big heart. Wonderful son, man, father, husband, friend, and just a good person. So proud to have had you as my son. My love is with you always! Thank you, Bryan and Lisa, for all the love you gave me. Loved those hugs, so here's a BIG HUG to you. Love always, Mom.
