Richard Alexander Nalencz

Richard Alexander Nalencz, 84, "Rich", a resident of Zachary but longtime resident of Metairie, Louisiana and a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, died on Friday, November 14, 2025 at his home. He worked for McDonald's Corporation for over thirty years and later for Checker's Rally's. There will be a visitation at Journey Church, 17407 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739 on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by Pastor Jay Coleman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cynthia Anne Nalencz; daughter Carolyn Nalencz Merritt and husband Kenneth Merritt of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Ryan Rodger Nalencz and wife Shalanda Nalencz of Zachary; four grandchildren: William Woodfin; Alex Occhi and wife Sophie Occhi; Olivia Nalencz; and Amelia Nalencz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Lois Nalencz and Alexander Joseph Nalencz. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was an avid gardener who loved flowers, bromeliads, and plants of all kinds. He enjoyed collecting shells while taking long walks along the beach. He was proud to attend events for his grandchildren: dance competitions and recitals, volleyball games, tennis matches, and cheer events. He loved to strike up conversations with anyone and everyone.
