Dianne Pearson Banks was born on April 28, 1952, to Della Davis Pearson and Rutledge Pearson in Brooklyn, New York. Affectionately known as "Princess Dianna," she was lovingly raised by Mildred Pearson and was the eldest daughter of 14 siblings.
Dianne received her education in the New York City Public School System and attended Clara Barton High School, where she pursued her passion for nursing. During her high school years, she volunteered at GreenPoint Hospital, offering care and comfort to patients in need.
After high school, Dianne began her career with the Internal Revenue Service before transitioning to the VA Administration Office, where she met her beloved husband, Gregorie Banks. The two were united in marriage on May 5, 1978, and were blessed with three children: Kristopher, Jason, and Venée.
In 1980, Dianne and Gregorie made the profound decision to dedicate their lives to Jehovah God and were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. Her life was a shining example of her faith, radiating "Agape Love" through her boundless compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others.
Dianne deeply loved her family and devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mom, nurturing her children with love, a strong sense of family, and a zest for life. She also pursued her entrepreneurial spirit as a Mary Kay and Avon Beauty Consultant and showcased her creativity as a talented seamstress. Once her youngest child started school, she re-entered the workforce as a New York City school crossing guard, a role in which her warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
Dianne retired as a school crossing guard and relocated to Pennsylvania in 2003. There, she worked as a resident counselor at Step by Step for 15 years. Later, she retired as a Residential Psychiatric Skills Coordinator to dedicate her time to raising her beloved grandchildren.
Family was the center of Dianne's world. As "Nana" to nine grandchildren and additional bonus grandkids, she poured her love into each of them. She took pride in attending their special events and teaching them. Dianne was equally devoted as a sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, always offering a helping hand without judgment.
Dianne had a vibrant passion for fashion, music, arts and crafts, cooking, and baking. She was known for her perfectly coordinated outfits, complete with matching accessories, hats, glasses, and even hair color. Her famous potato salad and an array of desserts delighted family and friends. A lover of music, Dianne's vast collection ranged from The Beatles and Whitney Houston to Aretha Franklin and Kenny G. She was the life of every gathering and a trusted confidant to many.
Dianne was predeceased by her parents, Della Davis Pearson, Mildred Pearson, and Rutledge Pearson, as well as her siblings Leonard Pearson, Ronald Nelson, Garland Nelson, Gerard Nelson, Bruce Williams, Norma Pearson, Frankie Pearson, Douglas Pearson, and Rudine Pearson. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Gregorie Banks; her children Kristopher Banks, Jason Banks, and Venée Banks-Wilkins; son-in-love Jamol; bonus daughters Jasma Tarver and Elizabeth Ford; her grandchildren Talah Banks, Jayson Banks, Kaylanie Banks, Jasiyah Banks, Kayden Banks, Elijah Wilkins, Zephaniah Wilkins, Malachi Banks, and Bryce Wilkins; and her bonus grandchildren I'nayah Gray and Jaden McBryde. She is also survived by her siblings Julie Foster, Michelle Connor, Kevin Pearson, and Elliot Pearson; her stepmother Lorraine Pearson; her sisters-in-love Christine Pearson, Marion Pearson, and Eleanor Pearson; her brother-in-love Donald Connor; her uncle Frank Pearson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dianne was truly the glue that held her family together and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
