With profound sorrow, we share the passing of Dianne M. Spranger, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, born on June 25, 1954, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Dianne departed from us on October 6, 2025. She resided in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, where her laughter, warmth, and love filled our lives and hearts. As her children, we are deeply honored to share her journey of life with you.
Dianne was a vibrant woman; a true nurturer, a giver, a hard worker, and lived her life deeply rooted in her faith. She was a beacon of strength and resilience, always meeting challenges head-on. Dianne was a dedicated member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sharing her passion for faith and Scripture. Her favorite verse, Matthew 19:26, "With God, all things are possible," often echoed in her words and actions. She also had several other sayings she shared, including "When one door closes, another one opens", "Take 5 minutes at a time...and sometimes, just one moment at a time.", and "You can do anything you put your mind to".
Dianne graduated from Lincoln High School and was a devoted stay-at-home mom raising her family before jumping into a career in customer service, working at JCPenney and later at Solarus until her retirement. Ever the community servant, she also led a Girl Scout troop and was involved in the Boy Scouts while raising her family.
Dianne's love for her family was unparalleled. She often said her greatest accomplishment was her children, and she was incredibly proud of who they had become. Her home was a haven of love, warmth, and delicious food. She loved cooking for her family, always planning the next meal while enjoying the current one. She was an avid lover of nature, enjoying bird watching, her time on the beach watching dolphins, and tending to her flowers and plants. Dianne was a friendly face at the family tree farm, welcoming customers with a bright smile and sending them on their way with a holiday blessing, coloring book, and a candy cane, which she often referred to as "Elf food". Dianne also had a keen appreciation for all four seasons, and she cherished every holiday.
Dianne is survived by her daughters, Amanda Spranger and Angela Walker; son, Shannon (Julianna) Spranger; her mother, Frances Stake; her grandchildren, Nolan Walker, Raegan Walker, and Josephine Spranger; her siblings, Sally Stake, Sharon Stake, Mike Stake; her niece and nephew, Chloe Stoddard and William Ferkey; and beloved chosen family, Penny Sonheim and children. She was preceded in death by her father, William Stake; brother, David Stake; and nephew, Patrick Stoddard.
A visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1517 24th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, 54494, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 9:00 am CDT. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will commence at 11:00 am CDT at the same location.
As we remember Dianne, her infectious smile, her extraordinary spirit, and her steadfast faith, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photographs on the memorial page. With each shared memory, we keep Dianne's legacy and love alive.
