Dick Martineau, 81, of Leroy, ND passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Leroy Parish Hall in Leroy, ND. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Leroy.
John Richard Martineau was born February 25, 1944, at Leroy, ND to Oliver and Ruth (Johnson) Martineau. He grew up in the Leroy area where he attended country school. In September of 1967, he was married to Beverly Braget. Dickie served in the North Dakota National Guard from 1962 to 1966. He then lived in Carson, CA where he worked in an aircraft parts factory. In 1978, he returned to Walhalla and then later moved to Leroy. He has worked for Longtin Farms for the past 47 years.
Dickie enjoyed motorcycling and driving his side by side. He especially enjoyed western movies, watching Jeopardy and if you called during that game show, don’t plan on talking to Dickie. He also enjoyed pool, darts, and playing cards.
He is survived by his son, Darren Martineau (Lisa Nightser), Cavalier, ND, daughter, Kristy Webster, Orland, CA, grandchildren: Chase, Chayden, and Kaitlyn, brother, Robert (Michelle) Martineau, Murrieta, CA, nieces and nephews: Nicole, Craig, Norman, Brian, and Brandie.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Norman, and a brother in infancy, Duane.
