Dietmar H Knappe

Dietmar Knappe Obituary Dietmar H. Knappe, of Michigan City, passed away on July 19, 2023. He was born March 14, 1953 in Landstuhl, Germany, to Elfriede Martha {Newby) Knappe. On June 23, 1990, in Westville, Dietmar married the love of his life, Roxane Jeffers. Dietmar and his wife owned and operated Roxys Lounge in Westville. He also spent many years working as a Sergeant at the Indiana State Prison. Dietmar also served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corp. He is survived by his wife Roxane Knappe: children Eli (Tammy) Mills of North Carolina, Joshua (Lisa) Knappe of Indianapolis, and Starlyn Knappe of Michigan City; three grandchildren, Terrance Loftis, Zachary Knappe, and Dietmar Jensen; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his brother Detlev (Dave) Knappe, sister Barbara C. (Steven) Miller, brother Michael J. Newby, five other grandchildren and a great grandchild. A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2023, at Newhard Funeral Home, at noon, with a memorial visitation starting 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Westville Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family.
