Dixie Lee Bertolet, 72, of Columbia City, passed away at 11:12 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home.
Born on October 28, 1952, in Columbia City, IN, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lucy (Powers) Holloway. Growing up in Columbia City, she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1971.
She married James L. Bertolet and had two children. The couple later divorced. James passed away in 1981.
She began her work career at the Whitley County Memorial Hospital in the medical records department. She then moved to TFE, Columbia City where she worked in the accounting department. She completed her work career as a cashier at Walmart, Columbia City with over ten years of service.
In her younger years, she was an avid bowler participating in the Women's Sunday Night League. She also served as secretary for the league. She enjoyed crocheting, photography, and being with family. She leaves behind her beloved Yorkie - Max.
Surviving is her daughter, Stephanie (Randy) Ladd of Huntertown; a son, Michael (Amy) Bertolet of Hicksville, OH; and grandchildren, Madison, John, Keaston, and Kandon.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Holloway.
The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the Nolt Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to final expenses c/o Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
