Funeral services for Dixie Fay Childress, 81, of Mangham, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 19, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, Mangham, LA with Bro. Jeremy Butler and Mike Wilson officiating. Interment was in Hewitt Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Dixie was born January 8, 1944 and passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in Mangham, LA.

Mrs. Dixie was affectionately known as "Aunt Dixie" to many children outside of her family including her church family and children at the schools where she worked as the cafeteria manager. Her absence will leave a void to all of those who loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl E. Childress; sister, Kay Shiers; and parents, Vernon and Marjorie Wilson.

Survivors include her son, Danny "D" W. Childress (Rene) of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Dr. Taylar Childress of Baton Rouge, LA and AnnaMichael Adams (Brandon) of Alto, LA; 3-great grandchildren, Alexander McKeithen, Lorelei McKeithen, and Lina Rose Adams; brother, Bill Wilson (Brenda); brothers-in-law, W.O. Shiers and Ronny Childress (Linda); sisters-in-law, Betty Romero (Larry) and Tina Fitzgerald; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were her nephews, Brian Shiers, Jay Dee Shiers, Glenn Childress, Mike Wilson, Bracy Wilson, Zach Wilson, Roman Wilson, and Kolby Shiers.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of Calvary Baptist Church.
