Dixie Lee McKendree, age 85, of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on February 2, 2026. Born on August 14, 1940, in Anniston, Alabama.

Dixie lived a life marked by faith, integrity, ambition, and deep devotion to her family. A strong Christian woman, she was known for being trustworthy, honest, and dependable, and for always lending a helping hand to others. Before retirement, Dixie was the owner of Dixie Realty and played a significant role in building and developing numerous subdivisions and homes throughout Anniston and the surrounding areas. Her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact on her community. Outside of her career, Dixie found great joy in gardening, cooking and baking, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Dixie is survived by her daughters, Laurie Lee Bass and Julie Lynn Cornelison; grandchildren, Philip Cornelison (Corrin), Rachael Cornelison, and Emily Wawrzynski; great-grandchildren, Blakely Gilliam (Ben), Jada Davis, Julia Guinn, Logan Mosley (Jackie), Kailee Sperry, and Alaina Sperry; and great-great-grandchildren, Emmylou Willingham, Karson Langley, Kade Langley, Aubree and Kaydren Tippins, Hunter Worrell, Kyler Langley, and Sebastian Mosley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delmer Henry Wilborn; her mother, Ethel Loraine Wilborn; her siblings, Dorothy Olene Wilborn, Floyd Leroy Wilborn, Jerrie Dale Wilborn, and Walden Julian Wilborn; her daughter, Linda Lee Wawrzynski; and her grandchildren, Jason, Shannon, and Reagan Guinn.

Per Dixie's wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

"In our hearts, you will always stay, loved and remembered every day. Your legacy lives on in the love and values you instilled in us."
