Dixie W. Meyer, 81, of Otterville, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025, at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 7, 1943, in Pleasant Hill, the third of four daughters of David Richard and Verna (Maness) Kruse. On January 6, 1962, she was united in marriage to Harry William Meyer, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2000.
Dixie was baptized as a child at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She devoted 43 years to Inter-State Studios, where she retired as production manager. She helped build the business from the ground up and left a lasting impact through her leadership and dedication.
A woman of strong will, Dixie enjoyed fishing, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, playing cards, gardening, and canning. She will be remembered for her fried chicken and Thanksgiving noodles, which became family traditions.
She is survived by three children, Lynn Meyer-Welton, of Sedalia, Lisa Dowdy (George), of Smithton, and Robert Meyer (Janeen), of Otterville; seven bonus children, Billy Joe Meyer (the late Elsie), Harvey Meyer (Mae), John Meyer (Marilyn), Jim Meyer (Rhonda), Wilda Romig (Lenny), Ellen Twyman (the late John), and Betty Meyer; five grandchildren, McKenzie Kusgen (Michael), Paige Aggeler (Dakota), Garrett Dowdy (Kelsey), Paige Strein (Ethan), and P.J. Phillips (Jessica); 16 bonus grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mickie Meyer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Lewis and Yvonne Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in IOOF Cemetery, Otterville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Meyer, Frank Meyer, Norman Meyer, R.D. Williams, Patrick Meyer, Jim and Kathy Page, Jay Fowler, Colby Watring, Patrick Jeffries, and Mike Wilfong.
