Dixie D. Reimolds, 87, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Monmouth Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 31, 1938 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Harry Edward and Clara Marie (Travis) Talley. She was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.
After a “love at first sight” encounter at the Rainbow Roller Rink, Dixie married the love of her life, Robert Lee Reimolds, on August 18, 1956, in Burlington, Iowa. Their devoted marriage lasted nearly six decades until Robert preceded her in death on December 12, 2015.
Dixie dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as a pharmacy technician at Zimmers Apothecary in Monmouth, where she worked faithfully from 1969 until her retirement in 1997. Outside of work, she found great joy in shopping, spending time with her beloved family and cherished friends, always treasuring the moments shared with those she loved.
Surviving Dixie are her daughters, Suzanne (Susan Anderson) Reimolds of Phoenix, AZ, Paula (William J.” Bill”) Spence of Monmouth, IL; her grandchildren, Heath R. (Jessica) Spence of Beaver Dam, WI, Travis D. Spence of Monmouth, IL; her bonus grandchildren, Trevor & Edith Davies of Monmouth, IL; two great granddaughters, Carleigh Spence & Amelia Spence both of Beaver Dam, WI; one brother, Lionel William Talley of Monmouth, IL; one brother-in-law, Paul Allen Reimolds of Monmouth, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Reimolds; her siblings, Jerry Talley, Jim Talley, Melvin Talley, John Talley, Harry Talley, Jr., Kathryn Parker, Donna Sheese, and Mary Ann Cole.
Graveside Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 20 , 2026 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL. No visitation hours are planned. Memorials can be made to the Dixie & Robert Reimolds Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
