David James "D.J." Gorby, a man known for his loving nature, kindness, and intelligence, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Ashland, Kentucky. D.J. was born on March 13, 1970, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to parents David Lee and Constance Lea Snyder Gorby.

D.J. spent his professional career in the field of Tool & Die Manufacturing. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his belief in the importance of craftsmanship and his commitment to contributing to the industry he admired.

A passionate advocate for public transportation, D.J. was a proud supporter of the Ashland Bus System.

D.J. was a cherished brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He is survived by his sister, Lea Ann Nolen and her husband David of Ashland, KY. His memory will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Andrea and her husband Bryan, Mary, Constance and her husband Patrick, Tristan, Bailey, David, John, Jeremy, Jackie, Dylan, Vernon, Leon, and Emily. Each of them will carry forward the lessons of compassion and curiosity that D.J. instilled in them.

In addition to his parents, D.J. was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Lee Gorby.

As we bid farewell to D.J., we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His impact on those around him was profound, and he will be deeply missed. The memories he created with his family, his work, and his advocacy will continue to inspire and guide us. David James Gorby's legacy is one of love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to his community. He has left this world a better place, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
