Paul Lee Dixon, aged 79, of Ashland, bid a peaceful farewell to this world on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his cherished home. Born into the loving arms of Virgil and Wanda Miller Lester on May 4, 1946, also in Ashland, Paul emerged as a beacon of light in the lives of those around him.
For 44 years, Paul served as a Lineman for IBEW, demonstrating an unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. His retirement did not signify the end of his contributions but rather a transition into different avenues where he could continue to enrich the world around him. Paul was a revered member of the Ashland Elks Lodge #350, Poage Masonic Lodge #325 F & AM, and El Hasa Shrine, where his presence was synonymous with steadfast support and friendship.
An interesting man with a treasure trove of stories, Paul's passions painted the picture of an individual who embraced life with vigor. His love for UK Basketball was renowned; he would often be found cheering on his favorite team with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life. Paul's interest in NASCAR reflected his love for speed and precision, while his fondness for cutting grass was an expression of his connection to the earth and enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life.
Though preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Dixon Purvis, Paul's legacy of love and kinship lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Charlene Sturgeon Dixon; his son, Chris Dixon, and daughter-in-law, Aimee, of Ashland; his brother, Steve Lester, and sister-in-law, Mary, of Ashland; his sisters, Nancy Whitley and Jane Sargent, along with brother-in-law, Phillip, both of Ashland. His grandson, Ryan Dixon, and great-granddaughter, Sophia Dixon, both of Ashland, will carry forward the light of his spirit.
To honor Paul's memory, his family will hold a memorial service at a later date. They invite you to visit www.steenfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence or share a memory of Paul, whose life was a remarkable tapestry of friendliness, usefulness, and captivating charm.
