A native of Serbia, he was born on August 26, 1942.
He was a self-employed tool and die maker and an avid big game hunter.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Tony Rodriguez of Willisburg; six grandchildren, Christina Goatley (Eddie) of Springfield, Jennifer Olson (Kyle) of Chicago, Santana Sodders (Bryan) of Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, Selena Rodriguez of Mt. Sterling and Destiny Rodriguez of Lexington and Dimas Rodriguez IV of Christ Church, New Zealand, a stepson, Trajan Cholak and nine great grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Sherrell, officiating.
Visitation will be after 11:00 until time of the service Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.

when i was living with Djura (George) i encouraged him to plant white pine trees all around his armada, michigan property to provide wind breaks and also allow deer and other animals to have shelter from wind and snow and also to attract bucks in hunting season; i also helped worked along side of him helping him plant those trees and also improve the armada and cass city properties; he had the large rack of one of the bucks he got, a huge one with huge rack and head mounted professionally and he was very proud of it; hung on the wall at his armada michigan house and not sure if his daughter still has it; i hope so; it is part of his legacy;

i have know Djura (George) since 1987 and when he moved from armada down to kentucky i didn't hear from him; tried calling his phone number and left messages and he never called back; no one told me he died; sad sad, i was hoping we could talk before he passed away; love you george and thanks so much for the times we spent together; sending condolences to all of his family;
