Dodie Denistran, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was born May 17, 1942 in Gallup, NM., to the late Virginia and Manuel DeLara. She was a resident of Albuquerque, NM for many years.
Dodie is survived by her devoted and loving husband John Denistran, her loving daughters Kathy DeLara, Elizabeth Garcia, her loving sons Patrick Baca, Manuel DeLara, and John Denistran and his wife Vanessa, granddaughters Valerie and Angelica Garcia, Renaya and Daniel Green, Falicia and Ryker Witt, great grandchildren Killian DeLara, Henley and Nora Witt and her sister-in-law Lorraine DePol and brother-in-law Michael Denistran and several other nieces and nephews.
Dodie was predeceased by her loving sisters Marti Maheras and Esther Miranda and her husband Chico.
Dodie took pride in her gardening work. She also loved to travel especially places near the ocean, play casino slots, puzzles, and eating hot green chili. Most of all she loved her family very much.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, July 31st from 4PM to 8 PM in the chapel at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114
A Rosary and Mass will be held Friday, August 1st, 8:15 AM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Road NW, Albuquerque. Burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque.
