Katherine Dorena "Doe" Wilson Clark of
Sterlington, LA. was born Feb. 23, 1948 in
Byrdstown, TN. to Jimmy and Bonza Wilson, and passed from this life Feb. 15, 2026 in Monroe, LA.
Kathy grew up in the small town of
Byrdstown, TN. After graduating High School, she briefly attended Belmont College before joining the Navy. She attended boot camp in Bethesda, MD, followed by training at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL. She then transferred to Norfolk Dispensary in Norfolk, VA. where she was a Corpsman working in the dispensary, before receiving an Honorable Discharge prior to the birth of her first child.
"Doe" and her husband made their home in
Rock Island, IL. where they raised their 3 children until their divorce. During that time, she was a homemaker and was the epitome of a mom; she loved her children fiercely, and would never hesitate to share that love with their friends. She was active in her children's lives and extracurricular activities; she never missed an event! "Doe" also volunteered at their school when they were young, devoting as much time as possible to her family. She later took a job with Kmart in Rock Island, and after meeting her longtime partner, she transferred to West Monroe, Louisiana. After many years, she retired so she could devote all her time to raising her fourth child. Being a mom was always the most important role to her. As life went on, she happily embraced her new title of Gan-Gan & Nana to her 4 beloved grandchildren, spoiling them the way only a grandmother can: sharing her baking and cooking secrets with her eldest granddaughter, playing (cheating in) cards, giving them "just because" gifts, but most of all, showering them with love. Her greatest joy came from having her family all together at any given time, but especially during holidays and birthdays. Her children and grandchildren cherish the time they were blessed to have with her and will carry on her legacy, passing down traditions for generations to come.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and two infant granddaughters, Alessandra and Lilliana Clark daughters of Wendy Clark.
"Doe" is survived by her four children: Warren "Daniel" Clark of
West Monroe, LA., Wendy Clark of
Sterlington, LA., Susan Ellis and her husband Craig of Ruston, LA., and David "DJ" Morris, Jr. and his fiancée Amanda of
Sterlington, LA.; her grandchildren: Luis, Evan and wife Rachel, Lily, Conor, and Harleigh Jane; her three loving sisters: Normadelle Wilkinson and her husband Bill of VA, Isabella Nicholas and her husband Amos of TN., and Reda Spurlock of TN.; she is also survived by her longtime friend and partner, David Morris, Sr.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2026 in Feazel Chapel at First Baptist Church West Monroe. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Arrangements for services in Tennessee will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at St. Francis Medical Center for showing Katherine such compassion, and providing her with excellent care.
