Dolan D. Leverton

Dolan D. 'Abe' Leverton, 90, of Greenville, Illinois, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at HSHS Holy Family Hospital, in Greenville, Illinois.
Abe was born, in Portis, Kansas, on January 10, 1935, the son of Roy Albert and Hope Leona (Rothenberger) Leverton.
He graduated from Portis High School, Portis, Kansas, with the class of 1953. In 1957 he earned a B.S. degree in dairy manufacturing from Kansas State College.
While serving with the United States Army, he worked as a vehicle mechanic and always joked that 'the army probably had a mechanic cooking someplace.'
On July 1, 1958, he started with Pet Milk Company in the dehydrated products development lab which mostly consisted of instant dry milk and Sego diet drinks. From there, he worked quality control, plant manager, developmental work, consulting work, and a variety of other jobs at different companies all over the Midwest, retiring on September 1, 1994.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #245 of Greenville, Illinois, since 1961 and was an avid blood donor with countless gallons donated.

He will be buried, in the family lot, at Osbourne County Cemetery, Kansas.
