Doleras "Dottie" Claudene Snyder long time resident of High Springs, Florida passed peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, at the age of 91. Dottie was born and raised in Homosassa, Florida. She was born on November 22, 1933, to the late Fred and Earlene Shiver.
Dottie grew up on an island taking the boat to school and helping her parents with their fish company, the Shiver Fish Company in South Florida. She later met and married Julian B. Snyder Jr. in 1953. They had three children Michael, June, and Bradley Snyder. They then moved to Tampa in the late 50's, where she managed a bowling alley, Adamo Bowlera for 17 years. After leaving the bowling alley she became a realtor in Houston, Texas. She was proud of her accomplishments and so personable that she was a success. Dottie and family moved to High Springs, Florida in 1987 where her family began to grow and set down roots. Julian, Dottie and June Lynn then began traveling to work at craft shows. She became a talented painter.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Earlene, sisters, Lois and Hollis, and her husband, Julian. She is survived by her three children and their families: Michael (Anita), June, and Bradley. Her grandchildren Nikki, Allen M., Breann, Allen B., and Leslie. She also has 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She lived a long happy life and touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her arms were open to anyone who needed them. She loved to fish, paint, and explore the country with her children and grandchildren. She was mischievous and loved to tease up to the day before she passed. For as long as she was able, she would get on the floor to play with any little ones. She was the cornerstone of her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
