Albin C. Snyder, 92, of Lawrence Township, NJ, passed away on October 9, 2025. Born on April 4, 1933, in Lumberton, NJ, Albin dedicated many years of service to the United States Navy, where he embraced the disciplined life of naval traditions and camaraderie. Albin was recognized for his exemplary service by receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Albin served in the Navy during the Korean War on the Naval ship the USS Salamonie. After his military service, he worked at Roeblling Steel and later as a Stationary Engineer at Stepan Chemical, contributing his technical skills and meticulous attention to detail to every task he undertook.
Albin was a man of many passions, including spending time in the pool, watching boats at Bordentown Beach, and immersing himself in various projects such as building and repairing things and renovating houses. He was a familiar and cherished sight in his community, often found reading his newspaper at the Bordentown Beach, chatting with friends and acquaintances at the Farnsworth Deli or engaging in his hobbies.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen M. Schaeffer of Fieldsboro, NJ., and Nancy L. Powers and her husband Michael of Lawrenceville, NJ. Albin was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen M. (Purks) Snyder, his son-in-law, Leon C. Schaeffer and his special friend Lois. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Christopher Schaeffer and his wife Colleen, Jeremy Sirak-Schaeffer and his wife Laura, Lauren Nowalski, Christopher Powers, and Hunter Powers, as well as his great-grandchildren, Derek and Natalie Schaeffer, Lucas and Owen Sirak-Schaeffer. In addition, Albin is survived by his sister, Irene Leroux, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Albin treated everyone like they are his family, including many of the daughters' extended family and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 13th at St. Ann's Church in Lawrenceville, NJ, at 10:30 AM, preceded by a visitation at the same location from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. After the Mass, Albin will be taking his last ride through Bordentown on his was to internment at his final resting place in Bordentown Cemetery.
