Suzanne Wheelock February 27, 1938 – October 7, 2025 Bordentown, New Jersey Suzanne Wheelock, lovingly known by her grandkids as Mimi, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on February 27, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Suzanne was the daughter of Norma and Lloyd (Stoney) Yochum, who preceded her in death. Suzanne attended The Ohio State University before building a life centered around family, faith, and meaningful community involvement. As a devoted homemaker, she filled her home with warmth, tradition, and care -values she carried into every space she entered.
A proud and active member of the Bordentown community, Suzanne gave generously of her time and talents. She served on the PTA, The Bordentown Historical Society, The Garden Club, The Bordentown Green Team, and The Bordentown Education Foundation. She also contributed her energy and insight as a member of the city's planning and zoning boards, The Veteran's Committee, and longtime member Christ Church. Her joyful spirit found a home in the Red Hat Society. She formed cherished friendships and created fond memories in everything she did.
In 2018, Suzanne was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Bordentown Halloween Parade - a joyful recognition of her deep community spirit and decades of involvement. It was a role she embraced with pride, playfulness, and the same warmth that endeared her to so many. That same year, she received the Distinguished Citizenship Award from the Elks for 2018–2019. In 2019, Bordentown City formally honored Suzanne once again, further acknowledging her lasting contributions to the town she so deeply loved and helped shape.
Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Gary, and their three children: Erika (Dave), Cynthia, and Craig (Sharon). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Suzy, David, and Karly, and Camryn. She is also survived by her great niece, Casey, and many more cousins, nieces, & nephews. Her family was the heart of her world, and she gave them a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support.
She will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, sharp wit, and deep commitment to both her family and the town she called home. Her life was one of service, joy, and connection - and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne's memory to either the Bordentown City Cats P.O. Box 421 Bordentown, NJ 08505 or The Bordentown Historical Society 302 Farnsworth Ave, Bordentown, NJ 08505.

It is with great sorrow that we have all lost an amazing woman! If someone did not know Suzanne, it would be a long, very long conversation trying to explain her! She was overflowing with love, kindness, compassion, giving (she gave me Suzy for a while along with many gifts). Also evident was her gratitude, empathy, humor, sympathy, understanding, accepting, joyful, friendships, and tremendous love and pride for her family! There will be a huge hole in Bordentown with out Suzanne!!! Probably the hardest thing to explain to those who did not have the privilege to know Suzanne is the wearing of shorts in all kinds of weather! I send all my love and deepest sympathy to a family who treasured "MIMI" and who she treasured most of all! Sincerely , Judy Pesce
