Dollie M. O'Banion, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Rogersville, Missouri on Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 31, 1956, in Pomona, California, she brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her.
A vibrant spirit with an infectious laugh and a heart full of compassion, Dollie was known for being
"a whole lot of life in a little package." Her boundless energy and loving nature made her a cherished presence wherever she went. She embraced life with open armes accepting everyone she met with kindness and generosity. Her strength was evident not only in her daily life but also in her courageous battle as a cancer survivor. Even though hardship, she remained resilient and full of grace.
She spent 40 years as a medical technician at Cherry Manor and Greene Haven Nursing Home. Beyond her technician skills, Dollie was known for her ability to connect with the residents on a personal level, offering comfort and building meaningful friendships and was committed to showing all the residents kindness and respect under her care.
Dollie found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time outdoors, especially watching hummingbirds, woodpeckers and deer around her yard. Sports and crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp and engaged, while time spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends filled her heart with joy. She never turned down the thrill of scratching off a winning lottery ticket a small delight that always brought a smile to her face.
She leaves behind a devoted family who will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter: her husband of 37 years, Dennis O'Banion, children, Dennis O'Banion, Jr, Mary O'Banion, and John O'Banion; grandchildren, Bentley O'Banion, Leona Rupe, Garrett Rupe, and Alena Oxenrieder; sisters, Alice Hutchinson and her husband Geore, Crystal Pacheo and her husband Chico, and Elizabeth Caplinger and her husband Steve; along with many other loved ones and relatives who were touched by her generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Long, father, Walter Lee Long, and brother, Robin Arment.
Dollie's laughter echoed through every room she entered, leaving behind stories that will be told for generations. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A visitation honoring Dollie, will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025 with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow at Miller-Lassley Cemetery.
