Dolly Barr Obituary
Born in Punta Arenas, Chile, Dolly was the daughter of the late Abraham and Carmela Carcamo Johnston. She was the wife of the late Gerald Barr, who passed away on June 9, 2014.
Following her education, Dolly served as director of the first special education school in Punta Arenas. Dolly migrated to Brazil before immigrating to the United States in 1988. She lived in Denver, CO, for twenty years before moving to Pennsylvania. Continuing her passion for nurturing children, Dolly built her career in the USA in childcare. The families Dolly worked with were extremely pleased with her ability to educate their children in multiple languages and cultures of the world.
Dolly was a member of Saints Philip & James Catholic Church, Exton. She participated in the Seniors club activities there. Dolly loved crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She would often craft gifts for family and friends with her hands and her heart. Above all, Dolly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Dolly is survived by her son: Maurice Ugarte (Viviana) of Denver, CO; daughter-in-law: Angela Ugarte of Downingtown; grandchildren: Christoper, Eduardo, Paul, Mauricio, Nicholas, Ivan C. and Lucia; great grandchildren: Sabien and Violet; siblings: Jeanette Meneses and Jepherson Johnston; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her sons: Padre Pablo Ugarte Johnston and Ivan P. Ugarte; sister: Jessie Imperatore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Chapel: 694 Lincoln Hwy, Exton, PA 19341
Memorial contributions in Dolly's name may be made to Lord's Pantry of Downingtown.
