Dolly Calvert, a beloved member of the Crowder community, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 65.
Funeral services for Dolly will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Crowder Baptist Church with the interment to follow at Crowder Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12 Noon.
Dolly was born on March 21, 1960 in Marks, Mississippi to the late RV Burt and Irene Ray Burt. She touched the lives of many through her warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Dolly had a diverse and fulfilling career. She served as an office manager for several different pipeline companies and worked at H&R Block for nearly fifteen years. In addition to her administrative roles, she was a massage therapist, operating her practice from her home alongside her twin sister, Sholly. Dolly's commitment to helping others was evident in both her professional and personal life, characterized by her big heart and a genuine desire to support those around her.
Her interests included cooking and tending to her yard when she was able. Dolly shared a deep love for traveling with her husband of 44 years, Jack, whom she is now rejoicing with once again. They were also faithful members of Crowder Baptist Church.
Dolly leaves behind her son, Greg Calvert (Stephanie) of Brandon, MS; her special niece, Stacy Jean Gaskin (Terry) of Maben, MS; her twin sister, Sharlene "Sholly" Ware of Crowder; her sister, Patsy Bruner of Madison, MS; and her brother, Garry Adams (Sharon) of Richland, MS. She was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Kady Pruitt, Brooke Pruitt, and Kadence Schmitz, and a great-grandmother to Hudson Goodwin. Dolly is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Jack Calvert; her son, Robby Schmitz; her siblings, Dale Burt and Sherry Jean Marberry; and her parents, RV Burt and Irene Ray Burt.
