Jack was born on January 13, 1956, in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Henry Jackson Calvert, Jr. and Dorothy Kuechle Calvert. He dedicated much of his life to his profession as a welding inspector. He proudly served Tennessee Gas for 18 years before embarking on a successful 30-year career, traveling across the United States to inspect pipelines. His commitment to his work exemplified his strong work ethic.
Outside of his career, Jack embraced a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed playing golf, mowing the yard, and occasionally sitting in the deer stand and fishing at the lake. Jack had a love for sports, especially cheering on his beloved MS State Bulldogs, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Orioles. Most importantly, he cherished the moments spent traveling with his wife, "Dolly", whom he was married to for 44 wonderful years.
Jack was known for his kindness, and deep sense of community. His family would often say that he never met a stranger and would speak to anyone. He grew in his faith at Crowder Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member and friend to his congregation.
Jack is survived by his wife, Darlene “Dolly” Calvert of Crowder, MS; his son, Greg Calvert (Stephanie) of Brandon, MS; his sister, Carrie McGovern (Heath) of Sardis, MS; and his three grandchildren, Kady Pruitt, Brooke Pruitt, and Kadance Schmitz. Additionally, Jack was blessed with one great-grandchild, Hudson, a sister-in-law, Sholly Ware of Crowder, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jackson Calvert, Jr. and Dorothy Kuechle Calvert; his son, Robby Schmitz; and two siblings, Bubba Calvert and Ellen Parker.
