Dollye Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory - Wellington on Jan. 27, 2026.
Dollye D. Moore, 87, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, and entered into the kingdom of God.

Born on September 19, 1938, in Porum, Oklahoma, Dollye was the daughter of George Washington Sexton, Sr., and Violet Elvia (Poole) Sexton.

On June 15, 1956, she married Dan Moore in Stigler, Oklahoma. Dan and Dollye enjoyed 50 wonderful years together.

A steadfast believer in Jesus Christ, Dollye was a member of First Baptist Church in Wellington, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and led as an AWANA teacher. Her trust in the Lord guided her life and left a lasting impact on her family and friends.

Dollye enjoyed bowling, reading, and meeting her longtime dear friend Judy Meredith for coffee on Fridays. She was gifted in caring for others and spent many years working in home healthcare, bringing comfort to those in need. Dollye also volunteered with the Sumner Community Hospital auxiliary.

Above all, Dollye cherished her family. For years, she prepared Sunday dinners for her family gathered in her home. Dollye loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed attending their events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Dan Moore; her sister, Ruby Fandry; and her brother, George Sexton, Jr.

Dollye is survived by her three sons: Clint Moore (Marilyn), Randy Moore (Caroline), and Greg Moore (Deana); her siblings: Martha Long, Carrie Alexander, Kathy Birkner, Irene Winkle, Orville Sexton, and Jim Sexton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Tim Moore, Amber Gould, Jill Frazier (Derek), Courtney Bernard (Cameron), Jackson Moore (Mady), Tabitha Moore, Jesse Moore (Katia), and Ashley Moore; and her fifteen great-grandchildren: Avery and Sophie Moore; Mitchell, Kyleigh, and Zachery Gould; Myles Metz; Lucas, Jenna, and Logan Frazier; Julia, Audrey, and Thomas Bernard; Andy Moore; Selah Moore; and Benjamin Moore.

Visitation for Dollye will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1030 Mission Rd, Wellington, Kansas, 67152. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 201 West Lincoln Ave, Wellington, Kansas, 67152.
