Dolores June Arthur

Dolores June Arthur, 86, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 26, 1939, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Lonzo Liberty and Rena L. (Lambert) Duncan.
Dolores grew up in a close-knit family with six siblings: Syble, Alvie, Lonnie, Rozzetta, Ken, and Carolyn. On April 16, 1955, she married the love of her life, Laurence Byron Arthur. Together, they made their home in Fletcher, Oklahoma, where they raised four children - Laurence (Larry) Byron Arthur Jr., Barry Lynn Arthur, Robin Rena Arthur, and Alicia Ann Arthur (1963-1965). Larry, Barry, and Robin all graduated from Fletcher Public Schools.
Dolores and her sister Carolyn shared a lifelong bond that extended into their professional lives. The two opened a beauty shop in Fletcher called "The Gold Band," where Dolores' warmth and skill touched many in the community. She later joined J.C. Penney as the salon manager, where she worked with dedication until her retirement on December 31, 1999.
Dolores and Carolyn formed a lasting friendship with Jeannette Ambrose, Janie Ambrose, and Sue Jones - all of Fletcher. These five friends were inseparable, raising their children together, vacationing together, and spending countless joyful days in each other's homes.
Dolores is survived by her children, Larry Arthur and wife Debbie, Barry Arthur and wife Michelle, and Robin Thurman and husband Randy, her grandchildren, Holly Phillips and husband Kevin, Shaun Strickland and wife Brittni, Mary McDonald and husband Justin, Eric Arthur, and Andrew Arthur and wife Lindsey; and her great-grandchildren, Tiffany Phillips, Lilly Strickland, Lauren McDonald, Ally Strickland, Hannah Arthur, Holden Arthur, Cheyene Arthur, Michael Arthur, and Brodie Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Laurence Byron Arthur, daughter Alicia Ann Arthur, parents Lonzo (known as Lonnie) and Rena Duncan, sisters Syble Coleman, Rozzetta Jurnigan, and brothers Alvie Duncan and Ken Duncan.
Dolores will be remembered for her laughter, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Fletcher First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and guests.
