Dolores was born May 13, 1937, in Colver, Pennsylvania to the late James and Mildred (Funk) Burket. On January 25, 1958 Dolores married the love of her life Paul Gerycz, and they were happily married for sixty-five years before his passing on February 1, 2023. Dolores's warmth and generosity were a gift to all who knew her, and her spirit of giving will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children Jennifer Lynn (Tony) Gorick of Lancaster, PA, Paul James (Sally) Gerycz of Olmsted Falls, and Janet Lynn (Bill Harris) Smith of Newcomerstown; her grandchildren, Christine, Melissa (Hairon) (and her children, Brayden and Jacob), Tony, Allison (Zachary), Emily (Jayson), Tyler, Raegan (Jeron), and Jaxon; and her sister Donna Jones.
Along with her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Gerycz, and her sister Kathryn Day.
A visitation will be held at Christ Methodist Church of Newcomerstown from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am with Rev. Allison Miller and Rev. Dan Eggan officiating. Dolores will be laid to rest in Plainfield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Isleta UMC, 58608 CR 9, Newcomerstown, OH 43832.
