Dolores Hall Obituary

Dolores "Dody" McBrian Hall went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 12, 2026, at the age of 90.

She was born on June 4, 1935, to Ralph and Flossie McBrian. The youngest of 11 children, Dolores grew up in Manton, Michigan, and Michigan City, Indiana.

In 1954, Dody married John T. Hall in Michigan City. They shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2012 while residing in Indianapolis. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Dr. Arlene Hall and Anita Hall; her sisters, Ella Krantz, Marie Badder and Frances Lanning; and her brothers, Robert, Sylvester, Carl, Vern, Fred and Donald McBrian.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Carol (Jeremy) Roy and John (Stefani) Goetz; her great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Kaitlyn and Emily Roy, and Reeslin and Foxx Goetz; and her sister, Edith Betras.

Dolores retired in 1997 from Tonn & Blank, Inc. in Michigan City after 18 years of dedicated service. She was often found in her flower garden after work or biking with her grandchildren to Lake Michigan. Once she retired, she spent many years living in Indianapolis, Lafayette and Kokomo. She made many treasured friendships along the way. She felt that God had given her many blessings throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, walking and teaching Sunday School and Ladies' Bible Studies.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN 46360. Burial will follow at Foster Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Indiana.

Dody held a special place in the hearts of our family. We first met her and John at Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and they quickly became part of our family. Her beautiful smile and cheerful spirit lite up any room she walked into. We had so much fun together whether it was eating lunch after church on Sunday, playing cards, or just visiting. When our son Chris went off to college at Purdue, Dody made him a quilt which he treasures to this day. We will miss her, but we know she is in heaven with Jesus and John and that makes our hearts happy. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Nick & Nancy Laurino

Aunt Dody was one of my favorite Aunts. She was always so kind and gracious and loved the Lord so much. I remember her and John coming to our house a lot and Uncle John would pick on us kids. I loved them so much and will miss her. But, will see them soon.
