WATERBURY – Dolores A. (Daley) Harris  age 86 of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the comfort of their home after an extended illness. She was the widow of Joseph H. Harris who passed in 2009.

Mrs. Harris was born on April 4, 1938 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Leda (LaFlamme) Daley. She was a lifelong resident of Waterbury, educated in local schools and graduated from Wilby High School. Dolores worked most of her life in the banking industry primarily at Colonial/Bank of Boston, North American Bank and Webster Bank. She loved to travel, was an avid seamstress enjoyed scrapbooking and going dancing with her favorite partner, her husband Joe. Dolores was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Church and she was a member of both the Prospect and Waterbury Senior Centers. She was considered the family historian and enjoyed going to plays and concerts, picnics and parties but what was most important to Dolores was her family. Any time spent with them was considered the most important priority in life and she specifically requested that her obituary read that she was the luckiest person in the world for her gift of family.  Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children: Tracy Kane and her husband, Michael and Joseph Harris and his wife. Rose (Battaglia) Harris. Dolores and Joe were blessed with 7 devoted grandchildren; Richard Harris (Michelle), Jessica Barker (Jay) and Amy Schifilliti, Crystal Charles (Wasi) Joseph Harris, Patsy Harris and Sophia Harris, 5 great grandchildren; Terrah Harris, Evan Harris, Wade Barker, Lily Barker and Brie Barker her 2 step-grandchildren Justin Kane, Britany Al-Atrache and baby Zayne,  in addition to  her other family members of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Dolores was predeceased by her grandson, Maurice Shugrue, her brothers; John and Richard Daley and her sister, Lillian Garrity.  Our heartfelt gratitude to Lorraine Marti for her many hours of endless help that she has provided our family and the caring of the hospice aide, Caitlyn.
