Dolores J. Lee (née Jones) was born September 20, 1938 in Morristown, New Jersey to Eleanor and William Edward Jones. She was the middle child of three, between her older brother, William E. Jones, Jr. (dec'd), lovingly called "Goose", and her beloved younger sister Marilyn "Mates" Jones (dec'd), who was lovingly called "Foose."

Dolores, who was also called Dee by friends and family, graduated Morristown High School in 1957. After high school, she attended Dover Business College and later went on to have a 33-year career at Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), serving multiple roles throughout her tenure. In the 1960s she had two children, Candace and Dean, with her first husband, Newlin E. Collins (dec'd). She later met Lawrence "Larry" Lee, native of Emporia, Virginia, and the couple shared 43 years of marriage together until her passing in 2025. Dolores and her two children blended families with Lawrence and his children, Terry and Kim. They went on to have eleven grandchildren, who called her Gram, and fourteen great-grandchildren, who called her Grammy.

Dolores and Lawrence settled in Somerville, New Jersey and, upon retirement, moved to Camden-Wyoming, Delaware. They adored one another and shared a special love language and banter that gave them the nickname, The Bickertons, by Candace. Dolores and Lawrence shared a well-kept home with their beloved Schnauzers, Jack (dec'd), and Piper. Dolores was a gifted cook who took great pride in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. She especially cherished hosting holidays and special occasions, always setting a beautiful table that reflected her love, care, and attention to detail. Their home was filled with laughter and memories shared over four generations of family.

Dolores recently celebrated her 87th birthday in style. She attended her soirée dressed in her favorite colors, pink and red, and was surrounded by family and friends. Dolores passed peacefully in the comfort of her home on September 24, 2025.

A Virtuous Woman, Dolores was detail-oriented, fastidious in nature, and had a peaceful yet discerning demeanor. Dolores took pride in her appearance – she was known for her fashion sense, well-dressed and accessorized. Dolores was, by all accounts, a true Virgo. Deliberate with her words and actions, Dolores's presence was regal and well-respected wherever she went. In her down time, Dolores enjoyed being home with Lawrence and Piper and balanced her "beloved MSNBC" programming with staying up-to-date on the latest Real Housewives franchise. Dolores's legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her beloved husband, Lawrence, her daughter, Candace in DE, son, Dean (Terri) in PA, Terry (Dorothy) in VA, and Kim in VA. She has three brothers-in-law, Ben (Dorothy), Clarence (Marie), and Roger (Ann - dec'd), all in VA, and two sisters-in-law, Juanita (Thomas) in MD, and Lorraine (William - dec'd) in NJ.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Corey (Stacey) in MD, Danielle in DE Newlin "Teddy" in PA, and Amber and Ashley in PA. Grandchildren Britani and Justin reside in GA, Ebony and Melina in VA, and Samantha and Alex in MD. Dolores had a host of extended family and friends. She shared a special bond with her beloved niece, Lori Wall in NC, and remained close to her best friend, Kay McGill in GA.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and William Sr., her brother, William Jr. (Goose), sister Marilyn (Mates), and great-grandson Lawrence. Dolores is loved and will be missed by many in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and beyond.
