Dolores Macklin Obituary
91, of New Kensington, died Tuesday October 28, 2025 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Arnold on February 25, 1934 to the late Edward and Mary Gabonay Rusnak and was a life long resident of the local area.
Mrs. Macklin was a 1952 graduate of Arnold High School. She began working at John W. Hunger Insurance Agency and retired from Travelers Insurance Co as a commercial underwriter in 1992. She worked part-time at the Doege Insurance Agency in Wilkins Twp. until January 2011. She was a former member of Sweet Adeline Chorus and enjoyed golf, bowling, gardening, playing cards, walking, traveling to France, Italy, Germany, and Hawaii. Above all else she treasured her family.
She is survived by her four sons Jeffrey Macklin of Penn, Ross (Carol) Macklin of Gilpin Twp., Larry (Cindy) Macklin, and Kenneth Macklin, both of New Kensington, daughter Shelly (John) Northern of New Kensington, grandchildren Cristopher (Heather) Northern, Marcy Fleeharty, Scott (Ericka), Jesse, Sam (Allison), Benjamin, John (Shelby), Sarah, Patrick (Lauren), Matt (Laina) Mike (Courtney) Macklin, and Rachel (Ben) Crytzer, great grandchildren Avery, Nathaniel, Claire, Ian, Brian, Liam, Neil, Ross, Molly, Maggie, Lydia, Eloise, Aylish, and Saoirse.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence E. Macklin and grandson Nathan Macklin.
Friends will be received Saturday from 9 am until time of memorial service at 11 AM at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. www.RusiewiczFH.com
