Dolores Jean McMath, 90, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday morning, January 8, 2026, in St. John XXIII Home.
Mrs. McMath was born on June 22, 1935, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Bailey) Steines. She attended Sharon Schools and was a graduate of Hickory High School.
Jean, as many knew her, was a longtime employee and retiree of the former Packard Electric, Warren, OH. Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Brunswick, NC, where they spent almost 20 years before moving back to the Shenango Valley.
Jean married her husband, Harold McMath on August 26, 1967, who passed on May 5, 2015.
Jean was a member of St. Braden’s Catholic Church, South Brunswick, NC; and the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon. Throughout her years at the churches, she served as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Rice, of West Middlesex; two sons, Elmer “El” Reiter and his wife Linda, of Sharon, and Ken Reiter and his wife Debra, of Plano, TX; a step-daughter, Lorene Bok, of New Castle; six grandchildren, Tim Reiter, Heather Richard and her husband, Craig, Amanda and Trista Lenn, Alexandra Lee and her husband, Chuck, and Landon Reiter and his wife, Jaycy; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Jerry Steines and his wife, Kathy, of Beaver Falls, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Reiter; and a brother, Don Steines.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Fwy., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (01/15/2026) in the Chapel of St. Rose Cemetery, 779 Dutch Ln., Hermitage, with Rev. Stanley Swacha, officiating.
