Dolores Onufer

Dolores (nee Boyko) Onufer, 86, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 29, 2025, in the comfort of having her family at her bedside.
Born in Passaic to the late Olga and Michael Boyko, Mrs. Onufer was a lifelong resident of Clifton. A 1955 graduate of Clifton High School, she then went on to become a Registered Nurse through the Passaic General Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1958. While in nursing school, Dolores met the love of her life, Raymond. They fell in love, married on September 17, 1960, and began their life together, raising their daughter, Patricia, and sons, Ray and Dan. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Onufer had been employed with the medical office of Dr. Pajoohi in Clifton for ten years and previously had worked at Passaic General Hospital Labor and Delivery, Daughters of Miriam Home for the Aged and Englewood Cliffs Nursing Home. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral in Passaic where she was a former member of St. Michael's Ladies Guild. She enjoyed camping with her husband at Promised Land State Park in Greentown, Pennsylvania and had served as a campground host. She also enjoyed knitting and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mrs. Onufer is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Onufer; by her three devoted children: Patricia Ann Onufer of Clifton, Raymond B. Onufer, also of Clifton and Daniel Onufer and his wife, Pamela, of Rockaway Twp.; her dear brother, Michael Boyko and his wife, Carol, of Oakland; two cherished grandchildren: Isabel and Daniel Onufer; by several loved nieces and nephews; and her best friend Iris Meyers. She had two beloved pet dogs as well, the late Charlie and her current one Riley.
Visiting will be Friday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Parastas 6:30pm. Funeral Saturday 9:15am from the funeral home with Liturgy to follow at 10:00am at St. Michael Cathedral, 96 First Street, Passaic. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
