Dolores Sparkman Abraham Scheffer passed on October 11, 2025, one week shy of her 108th birthday. She was born the eldest of six children in Kansas City, MO. She is survived by her sister, Carol Senner; and brother, Michael Sparkman of Kansas City.

After high school Dolores attended the Kansas City Art Institute where she met Ray Abraham. They married in 1938, and moved to Chicago, IL, where she raised two children, Anthony (deceased) and Michael, who lives with his wife Donna in Norman. She had two great grandchildren; and three grandchildren, Michael Abraham and Elizabeth Masanz of Mosinee, WI, and Robert Abraham of Bolingbrook, IL.

In 1987, Dolores and Ray moved to Norman to join son Michael. Dolores joined St John's Episcopal Church and served a term as Sr. Warden. She is past President of PEO Chapter EQ. Ray passed in 1993.

In 1997, at the age of 80, she married Walter Scheffer, a retired Professor at the University of Oklahoma. Walter had four grown children, Paula Lader, Nicole Tousley, and David Scheffer of the Washington, DC area, and Claudia Gallo of the San Francisco area. The blended families have a happy and warm relationship.

Walter and Dolores traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and Florida. Walter passed in 2013. Dolores was a clothing designer, artist, and accomplished pianist. She worked as an occupational therapist and in real estate. In her earlier days, she enjoyed playing golf and dancing.

In the history of her life that she wrote, one is impressed by the large number of friends that she had. She was a magnificent and well-loved woman.

A remembrance will be held at a time and place to be determined.
