Dolree Volpe Obituary
The daughter of the late Simon Arceneaux and Mabel Arceneaux, she was born December 10, 1932 in Gonzales, Louisiana. Dolree grew up on her daddy's farm there in Gonzales.
Dolree completed 2 years of college at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge before moving north to Brooklyn, NY.
Over the years, Dolree was a supporter of the International Field Service, a member of the Institute for General Semantics NYC Chapter, and a member of the Garden Club of Oakland, NJ. Each demonstrated her love of children, the spoken word, and gardening.
She is survived by her three children: Ramona Volpe and husband Carl Peters of Oakland, NJ, Raymond Volpe and wife Kathleen of Wurtsboro, and David Volpe of Greenwood Lake, NJ; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Calvin Arceneaux and half brothers, Glenn and Richard Gore.
