Domenic M. Pizzoferrato, age 62 of Akron, passed away suddenly September 20, 2015 at his home. 

He was born May 10, 1953 in Cleveland, and lived most of his life in the Cleveland and Akron areas. Domenic worked at Wayside Furniture and was an avid audiophile with an extensive collection of movies and music. He enjoyed good food and a good cigar, as well as campfires, going to the family cabin in West Virginia, and hiking in the Metro Parks. Domenic will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart and his signature “doo-ta-doo” greeting. 

Beloved husband of Joy (Wilson); dear stepfather of Toby Ratliff (Christine); devoted grandfather ”Bom Bom” of Elly and Ian; loving son of the late Blaise and Anna Marie Ferrato; beloved brother of Annette (John) Shaughnessy, Blaise J. Ferrato Jr. (deceased), Joseph, Linda, Patty (Klaus Kunzmann), Marianne (Allen Wyman), Ellen, John (Nancy), Tina (Mark Furr), Ron and Ken (Heather) Ferrato. He also leaves mother-in-law, Eileen Wilson; brothers-in-law, David (Alpana), Rick, Brian (Becky), Ron (Susan) and Terry Wilson; and was an uncle, cousin, and friend to many. 

Family and friends will be received Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Summit Metro Parks, 975 Treaty Line Road, Akron, OH 44313; or the Wilson Camp Club, 710 Roslyn Avenue SW, Canton, OH 44710.
