On Sunday, August 21, 2022, Domingo Galing Galicia, a beloved husband, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away. He was seventy-two years old. Domingo was born and raised in Madalag, Alcantara, Romblon, Philippines on January 10, 1950 to father, Gaudencio Galvero Galicia, and mother, Loreta Galivo Galit. He had a total of eight siblings: Lolando, Linda, Julia, Leticia, Victoria, Basilio, Ignacio, and Valentin.
Domingo met Rita David in Manila, Philippines in 1985. After years of enjoyable courtship, they were married on October 7, 1989, in San Francisco, CA. They loved traveling the world and sightseeing. They loved gardening and cooking together at their beautiful home in San Francisco. They were together for nearly 37 years with a large family and group of friends that love them. Domingo inherited dozens of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews through Rita's family. He was lovingly referred to as one of grandfathers.
Domingo worked at St. Francis Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 16 years and retired in 2017. Before that, he served as a Home Health Aide for 10 years. He had a total of 30 years as a caregiver to others.
Domingo was an avid ballroom dancer and was part of a Buri Buri dance community in Daly City, CA. He was a beloved member and even in his last months, he shared that he missed dancing deeply.
One of his favorite places was in the garden. He loved listening to opera, salsa, and tango music. He loved talking to friends and relatives across the US and the Philippines and managed to maintain his family and friends throughout the years. Domingo will be deeply missed. He will want to be remembered as a devoted husband, phenomenal dancer, and kind grandpa or "Lolo" to all his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Rita and his siblings: Lolando, Linda, Julia, Leticia, Basilio, Ignacio and Valentin.
