Dominic Nabil Nicolas David Bacha, 24, joined Our Lord Jesus, Sunday, February 19, 2023, after suffering a sudden acute illness. Dominic was born in Wichita, March 2, 1998. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. He participated in many activities including God Squad, Catholic Youth Ministries (CYM), Prayer and Action, Teens Encounter Christ (TEC), Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed chess; lettered in bowling; and was a regular star in band and choir. He was incredible at playing the trumpet by 5th grade and was a proficient pianist. He shared his talents with the church community weekly as a cantor and pianist at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
From a young age it was evident, Dominic was destined for the stage. He had a beautiful voice and held leading roles in his school musicals during 7th and 8th grade. His Music Theatre for Young People performances included High School Musical 2, Children of Eden, Godspell Jr., All Shook Up, Cinderella, Aladdin Jr., Suessical, Once Upon a Mattress, and Sweet Charity. Music Theatre of Wichita performances included Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, and King and I. He spent two years at Newman University and participated in Newman's music theater program, including a role in The Spirit of Father Kapaun.
Later, Dominic enjoyed being part of several gaming groups including Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon Go, and Dungeons and Dragons. He also enjoyed playing poker and Catan with his brother and friends. The past year was the happiest of Dominic's life. He enjoyed his dog Elton John, his job as Driver's License Examiner for the DMV, his apartment, his new truck, and his friends.
If you knew Dominic Bacha, you might know that he didn't like vegetables, he had clammy hands, and he most always wore socks. If you ever met Dominic, you knew his great laugh, his amazing smile, gentle spirit, and his kind heart. Unknown to his family, Dominic had registered to be an organ donor. As his last unselfish heroic act, he donated his corneas and retinas that will give the gift of sight to up to four people.
With his infectious smile, he is watching over his parents, Nabil and Tammy Bacha, brother, Devin Bacha, and sister, Camiela Bacha; his grandparents, Charles and Lila Wheeler; uncles, aunts, and cousins; plus, many friends, gaming partners, classmates, and coworkers. He is united in death with his grandparents, Nicolas and Kamla Bacha and his uncle, David Bacha. His blue heeler, Elton John, Dominic's faithful canine companion, lost his battle with cancer last week, as well. Dominic, our beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend will be greatly missed.
