Don Connor Obituary

Don "Bud" Connor died on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the age of 69. He was born April 15, 1954, in Dallas, Texas to Don Connor and Anita O'Neal. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before starting his career in Law Enforcement. He is preceded in death by his parents. Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Connor; his daughters, Leigh Lobello and Katie Holt; his son, Sean Connor; his grandchildren, Cole Connor, Caden Connor, Keegan Lobello, Cash Connor, Rhys Holt, and Weston Holt. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Boon and Linda Phillips; his brother, Steve Connor; and his stepdaughter, Hannah Cinquemano. Bud was very accomplished in his career; he spent 36 years in Law enforcement before retiring in 2006 and was highly decorated. In 1978 he was promoted to Sergeant serving on the Swat Team, in 1983 he was promoted to Lieutenant. He continued to receive recognition as he became a Captain in the Narcotics Division and Major Chief of Detectives in 1986. His last promotion was to Lt. Colonel, Chief of Criminal Operations in 2004. Bud received many special recognitions including, a Letter of Commendation from Baton Rouge City Police Department, an Outstanding Young Law Enforcement Officer Award and Outstanding Law Enforcement award from the Baton Rouge Jaycees, a Letter of Commendation from the Ascension Sheriff Department, and Deputy Sheriff of the Year by the InterCivic Club Council. He also received a Law Enforcement Commendation Medal from the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, an award of appreciation and citation from the Military Order of the World Wars, a certificate of appreciation from the United States Secret Service and an exceptional service and appreciation award from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office. He will be remembered well by his colleagues and dearly missed by his family and friends. The family invites friends and extended family to a Visitation on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral mass begins at 12:00 p.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge. Great guy. I met Bud when I was a U.S. Customs Special Agent and a U.S. DHS-ICE special agent in Baton Rouge, LA. Rest In Peace, Bud. Condolences and prayers to his family.

It is very sad to hear of his passing. We grew up in baton rouge and had some great times. Bud was a sharp person and was destined to do well. He did well in his career because he loved what he did, from junior deputies on up. He will be missed and remembered.
