Mr. Don Mike Burdett, born January 31, 1937, to Willie L. and Aimee Harvey Burdett, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his residence in Susan Moore, Alabama, at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Dean Ivey Burdett; his parents; his brother, Max Doyle Burdett; his sister-in-law, Martha Kitchens Burdett; and his brother-in-law, Ray Southern. Don married the love of his life, Ms. Shirley Dean Ivey on June 12, 1955, and remained faithfully married to her for 69 years until her passing last year. He joined Union Hill Baptist Church in 1973 and was a member for 52 years teaching Sunday School and RA's. He was a Machinist by trade working with Acipco and eventually retiring from Republic Steel of Gadsden. Mr. Burdett is survived by his son, David Mike Burdett; his son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Patricia Burdett; his daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Jeff McHan; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Alton Martin; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brother, B.L. Burdett; his sister-in-law, Sharlot Southern; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Ivey; and his brother-in-law Kennon Ivey. Brother Robbie Burtram will conduct the funeral service at Snead Funeral Home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Susan Moore, Alabama. The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm. James Martin, Jacob McHan, Alton Martin, Jeff McHan, Drennon Nowell, and Jody Burdett have been asked to serve as Pallbearers. Snead Funeral Home is humbled to serve the Burdett Family!
