DON L. DAVIS, 85, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Grove, Oklahoma. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Don lived a full and vibrant life marked by service, adventure, and deep connections with those around him. Born on February 19, 1940, in Shidler, Oklahoma, Don was raised with strong values that would guide him throughout his life. He graduated High School in Pampa, Texas, where he began to develop the work ethic and determination that would define his career and personal pursuits. Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that remained with him long after his service ended. Professionally, Don built a successful career as a Right of Way Manager for Universal Field Services in Tulsa. His work took him across the country as part of the pipelining industry for Shell Pipeline as well-a field that suited his adventurous spirit and love for travel. He approached each project with dedication and professionalism. In 1990, Don married Lydia (Haught) Davis in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Grove, Oklahoma. Don was a proud father to Kelsey Davis and Natalie Moore (Shawn) both of Grove. He found great joy in being a grandfather to Cloe Davis, Lenora Moore, and Athena Moore. His family was central to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Norma Bryan of Hungerford, Texas; Trudi Tipton (Mike) of Grove; and many nieces and nephews: David Tipton of Miami, OK; Jeff Tipton of Afton, OK; Nick and Michelle Tipton of Centerton, AR; Mark and Tamara Ingram; Phil and Cindy Ingram; J'Boone and Jana Koonce; Cyndi Pitman-all of Texas-and Shelley Davis, Holly Davis, Chris and Sue Davis-all of Oklahoma. Don was preceded in death by his parents William E. Davis and Mary E. (LaRue) Davis as well as his brother William Davis. An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, Don found peace and excitement in nature. He especially enjoyed bass fishing in Honey Creek near Grove and trout fishing at Lake Taneycomo in Missouri. Hunting was another passion that connected him to the land he loved so dearly. Those who knew Don remember him as charismatic and outgoing-someone who could light up a room with his presence. He was empathetic and kind-hearted, always ready to lend a hand or share a thoughtful word. His warmth left an impression on everyone he met. Arrangements are entrusted to Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Service, Grove, OK. No services are planned at this time. Burial will take place at Olympus Cemetery at a later date. May Don's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.
