Don Grant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Feb. 17, 2026.
Donald George Grant, 78, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospice, surrounded by his family.

Donald was born to Kenneth "Pat" Grant and Grace Palmer in Hunter, North Dakota. After graduating from high school, he began his working career at AB Dick Printing in Fargo, North Dakota. Don frequented a convenience store next door where he met his future wife and the love of his life, Barbara.

Donald later worked as a delivery route driver for Bridgeman Dairy, which later became Land O'Lakes and then Dean Foods. He retired from Dean Foods in 2007 after many years of dedicated service. Earlier in life, he also spent time driving semi with his father, hauling livestock-work he took pride in.

Donald was known for his quick one-liners, his easy-going nature, and for being someone who was always easy to talk to. He rarely complained and approached life with quiet strength. He loved cars and trucks, especially Peterbilt's, and enjoyed attending car shows. His greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends, camping, taking family hunting and fishing trips or enjoying summers at Star Lake, where pontoon rides created many cherished memories.

Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara (Anderson) Grant, his children Nicole (Brad) Wischnak of Fargo, Jason (Mandy) Grant of West Fargo, and Kelly (Randy) Niles of West Fargo, his sister, Patsy (David) Madsen of Hunter, North Dakota; seven grandchildren-Levi, Ella, Ryder, Izaac, Chloe, Hailey, and Grace; and one great-grandchildren, Hazel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Grace Grant; his stepmother Ann; his parents-in-law Milton and Evelyn Anderson; his grandson Brandon; his nephews Jamie and Michael; and his sister-in-law Roberta.

Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
