Don Wesley Herrin, age 74, of New Johnsonville, TN passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at his residence. Don was born on July 6, 1949 to the late Ruth and Pete Herrin. Don was well known in the community and was always tinkering. He was a proud and faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in New Johnsonville, TN. Don also proudly served his country in U.S Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a Slurry Operator at Dupont for 40 years and was a school bus driver for Humphreys County School system for many years.
Left to cherish Mr. Don’s memory are his children, Jill Ritter (Cris) of New Johnsonville, TN, Matthew Herrin of Camden, TN and Amanda Howard (Travis) of MD; grandchildren, McKale Ritter, Jenny Sage Ritter, Jonah Ritter, Parker Ritter, Delainee Amende, Sawyer Amende, Oaklei Amende, Ella Howard, Elijah Herrin and Mattie Jai Herrin; sister, Faye Lockhart of Waverly, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Diane Herrin; brothers, Bub Herrin and Brown Herrin, and sister, Elizabeth Allen.
A visitation for Mr. Don will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church (8863 Old State Route 1, New Johnsonville, TN 37134) beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lee. Interment to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
