Don-Mac Moody, aged 83, of Quinton, Virginia, departd this life peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024, surrounded by family at home. Born to Charles and Marion Moody, Don was a cherished son and brother, predeceased by his parents and his brother, Chuck. Don was born in Syracuse, New York and spent many years in beloved Skaneateles, New York before moving to central Virginia.
Don is survived by his devoted wife, Della, who stood by his side throughout their many years together. He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters: Debbie, married to Scott, residing in Providence Forge, Virginia; Denise of Marcellus, New York; Desiree, married to Frank, also of Skaneateles, New York; and Jennifer (Dave), of Troy, New York. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Anthony, Kayla, Zachary, Erika, Jack, Zoe, Mia, Allyssa, Maggie, and Marley as well as his great-grandchildren: Eli, Nicky, and Vinnie. Don is also survived by his brother Doug, married to Susie, and several nieces: Samantha, Melora, Melissa, and Erin.
Don served in the United States Army for four years before beginning his career at Adams Floor Company. Upon retiring he continued doing things that he loved which included spending time with his family, cutting the grass, working in his woodshop, building a blazing fire, puttering in his garage and a good game of horseshoes.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal service. However, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of a life well lived. Don's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.
