Pastor Don James McCullough, age 78, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at NHC Oakwood.

He was born November 9, 1946, in Portland, Tennessee, to the late Elvis and Maggie Glover McCullough. He grew up in Gallatin, Tennessee, where he attended Gallatin High School. After accepting Christ as his savior in 1963, he attended First Assembly of God in Gallatin. He met his wife, Rose Ann Brinkley, in 1965, and they were married in Gallatin in 1972. Don continued his education at Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida, graduating in 1974. In that same year, Don and Rose moved to Lewisburg to pastor a small home missions church, which would soon grow into First Assembly of God Lewisburg. For over 50 years, Don served the community with unwavering faith.

Beyond his role as a pastor, Don will be remembered for his genuine love for people, which was rooted in his deep love for the Lord. He had a unique wit and an infectious sense of humor, always knowing how to bring lightness and levity to any situation. He was a trusted pastor to many, offering care and encouragement and walking alongside people through both difficult and

joyful times. His compassionate spirit and kind heart touched countless lives in the Lewisburg community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rose Brinkley McCullough; two sons, Matthew McCullough (Christie) of Franklin and Jared McCullough of Lewisburg; and three cherished grandchildren, Ben, Olivia, and Ellie McCullough. Visitation with the family will be held at Lewisburg First Assembly of God, 1191 W. Ellington Pkwy, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Lewisburg First Assembly of God with Pastor Shaun Grant and Rev. Glenn Forsee officiating.

Don McCullough was my best friend for more than 50 years. He new more about me than anyone in this world. I loved him like a brother and my Christ like example. I always new if I needed someone to pray foe I would trust no one but Don. Rose, you were the best thing that ever happened to Don and I know that he loved more than anyone or thing in this world. My life will have an empty spot because he is gone. I know he will be watching over all of us and talking to Jesus about us. My heart is broken and I will miss Don greatly.
