Don H. Miller, age 90, passed away on October 13, 2025. Don was born on August 8, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard and Elizabeth Miller.
Don grew up in Omaha. He was a devoted husband to Verna Jane for 70 years. Don served in the U.S. Army followed by a career as an Industrial Electrician. Don was an active member of the IBEW Union for 63 years.
Together, Don and Verna have three children. Don is preceded in death by their daughter Donette Jane. Don is survived by his wife Verna Jane. His son John (Joni) Miller of Sarasota, Florida. His daughter, Debra (Shawn) Simon of Acworth, Georgia. Together they have four grandsons: Ryan (Jennifer)Simon, Dustin (Jessica) Simon, Jordan (fiancé-Pascale Haug) Simon and Kyle (Kristen) Miller.
Don was overjoyed to have known his six great-grandchildren: Landon and Beckett Simon, Theodore (Teddy), Susanna Jane and Joy Elizabeth Simon and Nora Beverly Miller.
Don enjoyed restoring classic cars, woodworking and watching sports. Don was a forever fan of his beloved “Nebraska Cornhuskers.” Don and Verna took great delight in the fellowship offered to them by their church community at Burnt Hickory Baptist church.
A Memorial Service and celebration of Don’s life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Family will receive friends prior to the Memorial Service from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.
