Crayton Alexander Smith, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2025, his 18th birthday. Though his time on earth was far too short, Crayton filled every day with kindness, warmth, and a love that reached everyone around him. He had a large heart and a deep love for Jesus that guided the way he lived, cared, and showed love to others. The family finds comfort in knowing that Crayton is now with our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, fully and completely healed.
He was the cherished son of Joanna and Chris Smith and the proud big brother to three sisters who loved him dearly: Evelyn (Evy), Eleanor (Ellie), and Emery (Jimmy). Crayton’s love for his family was evident in everything he did and in the way he cared for them.
Growing up, Crayton played both baseball and football, giving his whole heart to the game, his teams and teammates. He loved watching Alabama football, spending time playing golf, and being with his friends and girlfriend, all of whom brought joy and laughter to his life.
He is survived by many who loved him deeply. On his maternal side: his Nanny, Deborah Pettus; aunts and uncles Kiz and Jeff Davis, Kitt and Diana Pettus, Kji and Sondra Pettus, and Jessica and Darrell Nalley; along with many cousins. On his paternal side: his Mommom and Pawpaw, Becky and Larry Smith; aunts and uncles Tom Smith and Lynne Nguyen, and David Smith; along with several cousins who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Crayton was the sweetest boy. He was gentle, thoughtful, and full of love. Anyone who knew him couldn’t help but love him. The impact he made in his 18 years on this earth will live on in the countless lives he touched.
