Don Carter Nickson

Don Carter Nickson, 90, of Lubbock passed away February 10, 2025. Don was born September 13, 1934, in Crosbyton, Texas to Gerald "Bill" Nickson and Rubye Collier Nickson. Don married Pat Mize on September 1, 1955, she passed away on September 19, 1984. He married Rowena Cobb Childers on July 5, 1986, in Lorenzo, Texas. Don was a pharmacist for over 60 years, he served on the Lorenzo School Board, served on the Lorenzo city council and became mayor of Lorenzo, he taught paramedic classes and was instrumental in teaching and starting EMS programs in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. Don served his fellowman and community and will be sorely missed.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carol Yowell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Rowena of Lubbock; two daughters, Donna Sims and husband Doug of Amarillo, Stephenie Jenkins and husband Robbie of New Bern North Carolina, three sons, Alan Nickson and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Mark Nickson and wife Terri of Canyon, Wes Nickson of New Braunfels, Don also leaves behind nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
